I just read that 2024 will be the final Pow Wow. Sad to see the Warriors fade from the OC scene. Sad for the OC riding scene in general. I remember seeing this video at Switchback Cyclery (RIP), and I always meant to try to sign up for an event.

Legends! I moved from Socal too, and didnt train for to come back and do the VQ. I did do the now gone Seek the Peak "short" event in 1998 as a new Mtn Biker, and probably set a "record: as the slowest finisher ever. I trained and came back the next year and was the 2nd finisher. The time difference between 1st and 2nd shows as 12 minutes, which is a lot. Oh well! I also finished the Counting Coup a subsequent year. Great respect to all VQ finishers, multi-year finishers, club members. ELDERS, and my friend, Mr. Chris Vargas.

This was entertaining to watch, I heard of this event but never had the right training. It looks like it was well supported, thanks for sharing!

What makes this different from other guitarists is the individual finger slides he's using. There are certain licks he can do with these that would be impossible to accomplish with a normal slide.

This needs more context to up it's worth - it sounds like a fast rock guitarist, of which there are already... several. Showing the DIFFERENCE it could make from ordinary would be a good selling tool.

i think its sad that these kids are so young and ppl like you are already sucking them into the "whos better" bull crap. These kids are gifted and love what they do and they are not worried about all of that crap. They have their whole life ahead of them to grow and mature musically.
